About the university

אוניברסיטת מרטין הוקמה רשמית בשנת 1969 בעיר מרטין, עיר בצפון סלובקיה.

לפקולטה לרפואה של ג’סניוס במרטין יש מסורת של שמירה על מספר נמוך של סטודנטים (לא יותר מ-200 סטודנטים בשנה), מה שמאפשר לאוניברסיטה לספק גישה אישית לסטודנטים בתוך קבוצות לימוד קטנות מה שהופך אותה לאחד מבתי הספר המובילים לרפואה בסלובקיה.

על המקום

בשנת 1991 שונה שמה של הפקולטה לרפואה “הפקולטה לרפואה של ג’סניוס” לכבוד יאן ג’סניוס, רופא והומניסט מימי הביניים ששורשיו של אבותיו בעיר מרטין.

באותה שנה פתחה הפקולטה את ההרשמה לסטודנטים בינלאומיים.
